Bath Benefits

In this day and age, we are always rush rush rush, go go go.  We take showers as a daily necessity- get clean and get out.   Amid theBathtub hustle and bustle, we’ve lost track of a classic, therapeutic way to cleanse.  With all the stressors that every person deals with daily, perhaps it’s time to consider a change in the routine and revisit the bathtub.

Bathtime used to be a big deal, an event even.  The Romans utilized bathhouses for everything from Roman Bathperformance theaters to relaxation destinations.  The Egyptians took baths for purification purposes prior to worship and the Japanese believed in ritual bathing to cleanse the mind and spirit.  In many of these cases, the resulting clean body was an afterthought.  This goes to show the many ways in which a bath can be beneficial.

Today, we use them to clean our bodies but there are many physical and mental benefits to a bath Woman Bathing

  • Soaking in a tub is a great way to treat large areas, such as for satisfying itchy skin.
  • A warm bath can help relax an anxious mind.
  • The drop in body temperature resulting from a bath can help a person who is having troubles sleeping.
  • Being in the water can take the stress off sore joints and muscles
  • A warm soak may ease the pain caused by sports injuries or arthritis.
  • Baths may reduce inflammation, pain, menstrual cramps and burns.

Consider this the next time you’re about to squeeze your Gelée into your shower pouf, consider using it in your bathwater instead and enjoy the many healing benefits of a nice, warm bath.

Your Mom Used Vitabath for a Reason

When I go into my kitchen to wash dishes, I use the same soap my mom used.  When I wash my clothes, I use the same detergentVintage Dish Soap my mom used.  And when I get in the shower in the morning, I clean up with the same product my mom used…Vitabath!

Why is this?  It isn’t that I’m not capable of trying new products; I just know to trust what my mom has been using for years.  I do this for one reason:  in all of my mom’s years of experience, she’s learned to only use the best.  She knows that the best is Vitabath.

1950's MomMy mom has taught me to steer clear of trendy fad products and stick to the ones with a reliable history.  She knows that Vitabath has been around for over 50 years and she trusts it because she knows that what’s inside the bottle is quality, not fad.

The original creators of Vitabath were European skin care specialists who were seeking out an alternative to traditional alkaline soaps that were notorious for being harsh and drying to the skin.  They blended the finest vitamins and botanical extracts that nature had to offer, creating the original Gelée formula.  Over the years, that formula has only improved with the help of modern science, which is why Vitabath is one of the top premium bath and body products on the market.Vintage Vitabath

Vitabath is an antioxidant rich blend of 23 essential ingredients including Vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E.  This mix was designed to “supplement the skin” rather than dry it out.  Other products may smell nice, but Vitabath is good for the skin, in addition to its wonderful assortment of bold fragrances.

I know my mom would never steer me wrong.  I trust her on what I use to clean my clothes- I definitely trust her about what goes on my skin!  So take your mom’s advice (or mine!) and try Vitabath.  You’ll feel the difference as soon as you do!

The breeze is cooling off, the leaves are changing and the nights are getting longer.  It’s that time of year again, back to school… but more importantly, back to the dorms!

Shower CaddyI loved living in the dorms my first few years of college.  The hustle and bustle of classes and new friends all around made things fresh and exciting.  The only thing no one likes about the dorms- communal bathrooms.

On the first day of dorm living, everyone is a little apprehensive about that first walk to the showers, shower shoes on foot, caddy in hand.  But the luxurious scent of Vitabath® made the dorm showers a place of relaxation.

The dorm showers were never the most exciting experience about being on my own for the first time.  I was used to one shower, oneDorm Showers toilet in the bathroom, just like everyone else.  It took a little time getting comfortable with the row of showers until the scent from my favorite Fresh Citrus Twist® Gelée swept through the bathroom and down the halls.  It was only minutes before people started asking, “Who has that yummy smelling body wash?”  Within a few weeks, I was passing my Sugar Scrub over the tops of the shower stalls so everyone could use Vitabath®.

FRESH_Relaxation PackageIt was official, I had the girls on my floor hooked on Vitabath® and the best part was that it was affordable enough for everyone to have their own (and leave me my Sugar Scrub!)

Vitabath® is a tradition and I was excited to pass it along to my new friends and get the right jump start on college, with a level of comfort and even some everyday luxury!

SkinIt’s easy to hop out of the shower in the morning, towel off, put on your shoes and run for the door on a busy morning but don’t forget that important step of moisturizing!  Sure, moisturizing after your morning shower keeps you smelling like your favorite Vitabath® fragrance, but it does a lot more than that!

Why do we moisturize?

  • To prevent skin from becoming dry and chapping
  • To maintain suppleness
  • To help prevent aging of the skin
  • Protect the skin from weather or free radicalsWoman Moisturizing

What causes dry skin?

  • Weather
  • Advanced age
  • Medication
  • Hormones
  • Winter months
  • Sun tanning

What happens when we forget to moisturize?

  • Skin loses elasticity- wrinkles start to appear!
  • Skin becomes red and blotchy
  • Skin becomes itchy and flaky

What does Vitabath® Moisturizing Lotion do for you?

  • Creatine in the formula revitalizes cell energy to boost skin firmness
  • Amino acids replenish moisture
  • Vitamins A & E are antioxidants and protect against free radicals in the environment
  • Aloe vera helps skin heal
  • Shea butter is an emollient to smooth the skin

So what’s the best way to moisturize?

PLUS for Dry SkinRight after you get out of the shower, when the bathroom is still steamy and your skin is still slightly damp.  Moisturizing before you’re 100% dry will lock the moisture into your skin and maximize its positive affects.

So don’t skip this important step, you’ll thank yourself later!

Moisturizing Gelée Soap: Back to an Old Classic

September 7, 2010

There’s something we all do everyday to stay healthy.  It’s something that is so routine, we barely even notice when we do it anymore but it’s vital to our health.  It’s hand washing!

Washing our hands is one of the easiest ways to protect ourselves from germs and feel clean.  Since the advent of liquid and antibacterial soap, it seems that bar soap has been given a bad wrap.

Liquid hand soap

Some things you may not know about liquid or antibacterial soap:

  • Many liquid and antibacterial soaps contain alcohol, which dries out the skin.
  • Popular antibacterial and liquid soaps are no more effective at preventing illness than bar soap.
  • The germ-killing properties in antibacterial soap can be overkill; some strains of bacteria have become resistant to antibacterial soap.
  • Antibacterial soap is ideal for hospitals or daycare centers, where the risk of illness and bacterial are prominent, but it is unrealistic for in-home use.

Some things you may not know about bar soap:

  • Bar soap does just as an efficient job killing germs and cleaning skin as liquid soap.
  • It is much more cost-effective than typical liquid or antibacterial soap.
  • It is a common misconception that bar soap collects bacteria and is therefore less clean than liquid soap.
  • Bar soap can contain the same fragrant aroma that many people purchase liquid soap to acquire.

Original Gelée Soap

Some things you should know about Vitabath Gelée Soap:

  • It cleans hands of dirt and bacteria as well as the leading liquid or antibacterial soap.
  • It uses Sunflower Oil to keep your hands from drying out after use.
  • It uses Grape Seed Oil, a natural antioxidant, to keep the skin looking and feeling healthier.
  • It is enriched with Vitamins A, B5, C and E to revitalize the moisture level in your skin after using.
  • It comes in all four fabulous Vitabath® fragrances, Original, Fresh, Plus, and Spa!

So consider taking a break from the liquid soap for a while and revisit a traditional classic, Vitabath® Moisturizing Gelée Soap!
